![]() It is not pleasant to endure temptations and trials, but they do serve a purpose. The various temptations and trials that we go through in this life prepare us for the life to come. Of course, that is if we remain faithful while going through them. Unfortunately, we can fail to endure during these temptations and trials. If we are not careful, we can talk ourselves into sin. So, for just a little while, we would like to consider some things that we say to ourselves that prevent us from being successful when we face temptations and trials. ![]()

![]() The Bible tells us that Jeroboam pleaded with the people and convinced them that it was too much for them to have to travel to Jerusalem to worship God. He made golden calves, and set them in Dan and Bethel. He made a house, and appointed his own priests. He even made his own feast to go along with his false religion. It was a religion of convenience. ![]()
![]() Some may think that sorrow is sorrow, but the Bible makes a distinction. “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10) You see there is a Godly sorrow and there is a worldly sorrow. ![]()
![]() These verses contain a beautiful description of the most important event in human history. That event is the incarnation of Jesus. When Jesus left the glories of heaven and came into this world as a man, He was a visible manifestation of the grace of God. Through Him, the grace of God burst forth into the history of man like the rising sun piercing the darkness of night until it vanishes away. The appearance of Jesus has given man an understanding of the grace of God. ![]()
![]() There is a significant portion of the book of Genesis that is dedicated to covering the life of Joseph. There are some specific events that we are going to look at within this portion of God’s word. As we do, we will examine some of the challenges that Joseph faced in his life. By the time we finish I believe that we will truly be able to say that the story of Joseph is a story full of lessons for all of us. ![]()

Within the Bible, we can read of discouragement in the lives of Job, David, Jeremiah, and Elijah – just to name a few. No one is exempt from discouragement. Discouragement can take many forms and be caused by many things. Basically, a person is discouraged when they lose hope and feel like giving up. If left untreated it can be devastating to a person. It’s for that reason that we would like to discuss how to overcome discouragement. ![]()
![]() Today the Church faces many challenges, and just like Israel of old the only way for it to be successful is for the family to be committed unto God. Fathers and mothers must fulfill their role according to Gods word, and train their children to do the same. We have before us the same choice that Joshua presented to the children of Israel. Will we, like him, say, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord?” ![]()
![]() Balaam is mentioned in eight different books of the Bible. It is clear that the Holy Spirit intends for us to learn some lessons from this man’s life. Unfortunately for Balaam, his place in the Bible is a place of shame. He went from being a prophet of God to a prophet seeking profit. ![]()

![]() The use of these devices brings new challenges to living a life that is pleasing to God. The moral issues themselves are not new. They are the same moral issues that have been with man since the creation. We just have to learn to apply the scriptures to our use of this new technology. We must do as the scriptures teach, and let no corrupt communication come from our computer or our cellphone. ![]()
