Pharaoh tried on several occasions to get Moses to make compromises. After the last attempt, Moses told Pharaoh that Israel was taking all that they had with them because they did not know what they might need to serve God. Moses was going to make sure that he and the children of Israel were prepared to serve God no matter what the circumstances were.

The conventional wisdom of the day believes that all world religions are just different roads to the same destination. It doesn't matter which path or religion you choose because in the end they're all the same. Is this true? Is the Bible just one of many good books that you can choose to read or is it the only book? For just a little while we would like to examine this topic and ask the question, "Why the Bible?"
Jesus identified that there are only two sources of authority: God or man. Everything that we do is going to come from one of these two sources of authority. We will do things under the authority of man or under the authority of God. What we must realize, however, is that only one of these sources is a true source of authority. With this in mind, I would like to discuss our everyday life and the concept of "Living Outside of God's Authority."
The importance of faith in the life of a Christian cannot be stressed enough. The Bible repeatedly mentions the importance of faith. Without faith we cannot please God according to Hebrews 11:6. The just are to live by faith according to Romans 1:17. We acquire faith through the word of God. That means that the Bible is our standard of faith.
The Apostle Paul wrote unto Timothy and told him to "hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard." The word form in this verse means pattern. The word sound means healthy, but in reference to the words spoken by Paul it means true and in-corrupt doctrine. As we realize the meaning of these words, we find that Paul instructed Timothy to hold to the set standard. There was a pattern that Timothy had to follow and he was not to stray from it.
There is enough evidence in nature to convince man of the existence of God. Creation can make us aware of the fact that there is a God, but it cannot teach us anything more. Divine revelation is needed to know who God is. This is where the Bible comes into play. It is God's message to man. Without the Bible we would not know that there are three divine beings. We know of these beings as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Much of the ancient world was steeped in idolatry. Man knew that someone was responsible for creation, but he often sought out a god of his own making that he could control. God's people of old were not immune to this tendency. Israel often allowed herself to be influenced by the nations around her and sought after their man-made gods. The prophet Jeremiah pointed out the foolishness of this error. These man-made gods had to be carried from place to place because they could not move. There was no need to fear them because they could not do evil or good. Most importantly for our discussion, they could not speak. The One True God is a God of communication.
Christianity does not depend upon subjective experience, blind faith, tradition, or opinion as do other world religions. Christianity stands or falls upon objective evidence that has been written down in the Bible. There is overwhelming evidence that the Bible is completely true. For just a little while I would like to discuss with you five proofs that the Bible is indeed the inspired, unerring word of God.
As Christians, we believe that God created everything that exists. We also believe that God has communicated to man. This communication is in the form of a book we call the Bible. If the Bible truly is from God we would expect it to be without error. It's going to be our goal to examine the Bible in order to understand the claims it makes about itself.
When you read the Bible it becomes clear that it teaches God's word will endure forever. Jesus, as well as the inspired writers, made statements that Implied God will preserve His word. He has caused it to be written down and passed on for generations so that all mankind may read it. Bible critics claim that this is not the case. They say that the Bible has been changed over the years and lost its original meaning. For just a little while we would like to examine this claim and ask, "Can we trust the Bible?"
