Today the Church faces many challenges, and just like Israel of old the only way for it to be successful is for the family to be committed unto God. Fathers and mothers must fulfill their role according to Gods word, and train their children to do the same. We have before us the same choice that Joshua presented to the children of Israel. Will we, like him, say, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord?”

Balaam is mentioned in eight different books of the Bible. It is clear that the Holy Spirit intends for us to learn some lessons from this man’s life. Unfortunately for Balaam, his place in the Bible is a place of shame. He went from being a prophet of God to a prophet seeking profit.
The use of these devices brings new challenges to living a life that is pleasing to God. The moral issues themselves are not new. They are the same moral issues that have been with man since the creation. We just have to learn to apply the scriptures to our use of this new technology. We must do as the scriptures teach, and let no corrupt communication come from our computer or our cellphone.
Prayer is not without its limits. God, in His infinite wisdom, designed prayer to accomplish certain things – not all things. As we study the Bible we find that there are some things that prayer will and will not do. It is our goal to see what the scriptures say on this matter so we can have a deeper understanding of prayer.
The Bible teaches that prayer is a great blessing that God gives his people, but there are some things that the Bible teaches can hinder our ability to pray unto God. As we study the scriptures we will find that there are some things that will cause God not to hear, and answer our prayers. If we allow these things in our life, they could place us in a position of being unable to pray for someone or ourselves in a time of need. It is very important, therefore, that we understand those things that can hinder our prayers.
How does God answer the prayers of His people? This is a question that raises our curiosity and gets our attention. There is only one place that we can turn to for the answer to this question, and that is God’s word. Through a careful study of the word of God we can get a general sense of how God answers prayer.
Prayer is one of the greatest privileges, and most powerful means available to a child of God. In fact, prayer is the closest that a Christian can get to God while on this side of eternity. In this study, we will examine what the Bible teaches about prayer.
Questions about death are often on our mind. Death is something that each person will face one day, and the death of loved ones and friends is something that we will deal with throughout our life. The subject caused many questions among the church in the first century and God, through the inspiration of the Spirit, answered those questions in His word.
The idea of forgiveness can be very perplexing to us at times. The very fact that regardless of what a person has done he can be forgiven when he seeks God, is taught throughout the Bible. The problem is that some people fail to believe this truth. There are some individuals who find it hard to believe that they can be forgiven because they can't forgive themselves. They see their sins as being too numerous and too great for God to forgive. Well, there is a man whom we are going to read about in the Bible who had committed great sins, yet he found forgiveness from God when he sought it.
